OUR TEAM

"I struggled with finding my place in the world when I separated from the Corps. I needed space, peace, time... to find myself, understand my identity. I needed a new direction and mission.

My relationship with Christ and the outlets he led me to changed my life. They provided that new direction and renewed identity I needed. Fly fishing especially helped me to find a way forward with a renewed passion for life, and a new direction.

It balanced challenges I faced in life with challenges learning the sport, and paved a road for perseverance that led to momentum in both my pursuit of the sport and my pursuit of life. That momentum opened doors to other passions like hunting, backpacking, rafting, hiking, trail running.

These are the outlets and tools I want to bring to others that need them."- Nate

"I find balance in the woods. I grew up near the beach riding dirt bikes, surfing, and playing sports, which built a love for being outdoors and pushing myself physically.

After moving to Southwest Virginia in my early twenties, that drive turned into a deep passion for deer hunting and mountain terrain. I prefer steep ridges, thick timber, and long hikes into places most hunters won’t go, slowing the hunt down and playing chess with mature whitetails by reading sign, wind, and terrain.

Being involved in a nonprofit that takes veterans and first responders into the field feels natural to me. The woods offer something hard to find elsewhere... peace. purpose.

Whether it’s deer, turkey, or black bear hunting in Southwest Virginia, my goal is to provide challenging, meaningful experiences that honor service and reconnect people with the land."
